The Yahire Story

From a front room idea to the team behind thousands of events.

Yahire founders Taran O'Doherty and Ben Leslie

The Yahire story

The Beginning

It started with a couple of best mates. And a couple of beers.

Taran and Ben had been friends since they started school in the late '80s. In early 2011, they saw an industry stuck in its ways and ripe for disruption.

“How about Yahire?”

Taran said

“It's got a ring to it...” said Ben. And so, Yahire was born: a catchy name, a clear vision and just enough money for 200 folding chairs, delivered to Ben's mum's house.

No van, no warehouse, no business background, just energy, determination and a drive to do things better. The kit's changed a lot. The heart of it hasn't.

How we work

Your event, looked after.

The furniture is the easy part. Everything around it is where we earn it.

Your own account manager

New business works out what the job needs. Then an account manager takes it and stays with it, backed by sales support and a customer support manager.

The team behind the sale

Behind your account manager sits a warehouse keeping stock up to date, a logistics team building the route, and drivers who know London's loading bays.

Well known at London's venues

After fifteen years in the same buildings, venue teams know us by name and are glad to see the van. Plenty list us among the suppliers they recommend.

We do the venue homework

Loading bay or street. Vehicle pass, driver name, a lift or three flights. Far better we know before the van is loaded than when the driver is already outside.

Open when your venue is

Events do not stop at Friday, so neither do we. Deliveries and collections run every single day of the week, and the transport desk is reachable at weekends too.

Our people

Good hire is a people business.

Today, we've got around 100 staff and deliver to over 8,500 events a year. But at our core, we're still just a couple of mates trying to make hire unbelievably easy.

A note from our Managing Director

The next chapter.
Still unmistakably Yahire.

Yahire has always grown by listening closely to the people planning and running events, then fixing the parts of hire that make their jobs harder. That practical approach should stay at the heart of every decision we make.

The next chapter is about investing in our people, technology and furniture so customers get clearer answers, more control and an even more dependable service. We want to grow with confidence while keeping the straight talking, hands-on support that made Yahire what it is.
